On June 30, 2011, 78 new Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS) Localizer Performance with Vertical guidance (LPV) approach procedures were published. The current LPV total is 2,520. Four hundred and ninety-five LPVs have a Height above Touchdown (HAT) of 200 feet.
The number of Localizer Performance (LP) approach procedures also continues to climb. Twenty-two (22) new LPs were added bringing the total number of LPs to 35.
There are now twice as many WAAS procedures (LPVs and LPs) as there are Instrument Landing System (ILS) glide slopes in the U.S. National Airspace System.
