The airline said this order represents the country’s biggest fleet investment; Aeromexico will be the first airline in Latin America to operate the two next-generation aircraft.
“This order represents the most ambitious investment program for a national carrier in Mexican commercial aviation history and a major step forward in consolidating Grupo Aeromexico's international leadership position while moving forward in accelerating the Group's modernization plan. We are taking this major step together with our partners, Boeing and General Electric under a flexible structure that allows us to grow according to market conditions,” said Andres Conesa, CEO of Aeromexico.
The Mexican carrier expects to enter the Dreamliners into service in the summer of 2013, and the 737 Max planes are expected to arrive in 2018.
