Helicopter - Honours - Is it deserved?

Please not that I have nothing against this person. However, I feel that the organisation HeliOffshore is superflous as what I have  seen emanating from them is obsolete here in Norway. Also, I very strongly feel that new EU regulations which are detrimental to what I see as better safety regulations, are supported by the CAA.

Offshore oil and gas support leader Bill Chiles is to be honored next month during the Living Legends of Aviation awards ceremony in Beverly Hills, California. The CEO emeritus of Bristow Group and current chairman of the international flight safety group HeliOffshore, Chiles will receive the Vertical Flight Hall of Fame during the Jan. 22 ceremony hosted by film star and aviator John Travolta. Bell Helicopter established the vertical flight award in 2010. Past recipients include Roy Morgan, a founder of Air Methods; Jack Erickson, founder of Erickson Aviation; and Elling Halvorson, founder of Papillon Group.
Chiles, currently a co-managing partner of private-equity investment firm Pelican Energy Partners, led the establishment at Bristow in 2007 of Target Zero, a company-wide initiative with the worldwide goal of achieving "zero accidents, zero harm to people, zero harm to the environment." Today, Target Zero is considered the main underpinning of Bristow's culture. The Living Legends awards are produced by the Kiddie Hawk Air Academy, a nonprofit organization with a mission to educate and inspire youth and create tomorrow’s aviators.
