Plane crashes into road moments after take-off – police confirm 'no survivors'

A PLANE has crashed with no survivors as the aircraft slammed into a road moments after take-off.


Emergency services rushed to the scene after the US National Guard cargo plane – a C-130 – came down reported with five people on board in Savannah, Georgia
Firefighters and ambulance crews were called as the aircraft’s wreck became an inferno at the intersection.
It is understood the plane was heading for Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Arizona
People were urged to avoid the area while emergency crews deal with the incident – with all five crew reported dead.
C-130s are a staple of the US military and are capable of carrying up to 90 passengers.

WRECKAGE: Plumes of black smoke can be seen over the nearby airport
“The ground shook like a bomb was going off.”

Pictures from the scene show huge plumes of black smoke rising from the wreckage which can be seen for miles around.
Cars and trucks can also be seen on the roadway near the wreckage, but it is unclear if any were involved in the crash.
Witnesses said the “ground shook like a bomb was going off” as the plane came down shortly after take-off at 11.30am local time.
