Qatar Airways said an Airbus A350-1000 would operate on its Doha-New York JFK route from Oct. 28, marking the aircraft’s first commercial route to the US.
The launch customer for the aircraft took delivery of its first A350-1000 in February and now operates it on a daily service between Doha and London Heathrow.
Qatar Airways’ A350-100 has a 327-seat configuration with two cabins: 46 Qsuite business-class seats and 281 economy seats.
Qatar Airways has ordered a total of 37 A350-1000s, of which two have been delivered. Hong Hong-based Cathay Pacific, the only other airline currently operating the aircraft, is operating its A350-1000 on the Hong Kong-Taipei route.
