S-92A og askeflyging

Jeg viser til innlegget mandag vedr. flygingen i britisk sektor i hva som synes å ha vært i aske. Via Aircontacgruppen har jeg fått svar fra Sikorsky vedr. spørsmål om effekt på motorene: All relevant inspections were carried out and found NO negative impact due to ash. The aircraft and engines were thoroughly washed and have continued uninterrupted service.

This was not the only event of a SAR S92 flying through ash for life and death mission. One was flown from Stornoway to Glasgow as well two days after the one mentioned in the article. Again, no adverse affects.
