  Airbus has presented the cabin of its new Airbus A350 a day before the opening of the Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg. The aircraft, MSN002, was parked in one of the hangars at the Airbus plant in Hamburg having been flown in on Saturday.
  

  
  

  
  It is equipped with a two-class cabin including business and economy seating. Some flight test equipment has also been installed towards the rear of the aircraft.
  
  

  

  
  
  

  

  
  MSN002 is the first A350 that has a full cabin installed and is one of a total of five aircraft that will participate in the flight tests. Four aircraft are already flying.
  
  

  

  
  Airbus displayed the mood lighting functions in the cabin. Economy seating was at nine-abreast, but the manufacturer is also offering a ten-abreast option for higher density. The A350 cabin is six inches wider than that of its primary competitor, the Boeing 787. The 787 is typically operated with eight- or nine-abreast seating in economy.
  
  

  

  
  Three seat manufacturers are in the A350 catalogue for economy seats (B/E Aerospace, Zodiac and Recaro) and there are five options from three seat makers (Sogerma, Zodiac, Jamco) for the business class cabin. Unlike in economy, airlines can chose seats that are not in the catalogue for business class.
  
  

  

  
  The cabin displayed has central bins in economy, but only outboard bins in business. Airbus says the outboard stowage is so big that even for a six abreast higher density regional business class, sufficient space is available. The bins are high enough to store trolleys sideways so that a total of five can fit in.
  
  The sidewalls of the aircraft are more vertical than in other aircraft, Airbus argues, not encroaching into the space of the window seat passenger. In business class electromechanical shades are offered.
