Airbus Group NV (AIR) won an order from China Southern Airlines (1055) Co. for 80 A320-family airliners, extending its foray in the world's most populous country, where Airbus has a factory that churns out the single-aisle aircraft.
The order is for 30 A320 airliners with a classic engine, and 50 of the more advanced A320neo that comes with more fuel-efficient powerplants, according to Airbus. Based on current list prices, the order has a value of about $7.96 billion.
