[Avionics Today 10-13-2014] Rockwell Collins Elbit Systems of America Vision Systems (RCEVS) has introduced a night vision solution for fixed wing aircraft. The Digital Eye Piece (DEP) Night Vision Cueing Display (NVCD) is fully qualified and available to fit all fielded JHMCS helmet-mounted displays, according to a statement released by Elbit Systems.

This solution allows pilots to fly and train at night just as they do with the JHMCS in the day. The capability combines the near-zero latency tracking of JHMCS with a modern digital eyepiece in a plug-in design.

DEP NVCDs allow the pilot to use current JHMCS symbology sets at night while flying any currently fielded aviator night vision goggles. This digital display kit can be fitted on any fielded JHMCS helmet.
