[Avionics Today 11-14-2014] The Textron AirLand Scorpion aircraft will fly with Honeywell Aerospace TFE731-40AR-3S engines as it enters into production. This extends the agreement between Textron and Honeywell as the engine was previously selected for the development stage of the program.

The Scorpion was designed with the aim to perform a wide range of diverse missions and offer Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance (ISR) and strike capabilities at a low operating cost. The mature, lightweight TFE731 engine complements the aircraft's multipurpose role in the marketplace, according to a statement released by Honeywell, by allowing it to stay light and cost-effective.
