Narrative:
The aircraft, an experimental Patrick Carroll kit-built Just JA30 SuperSTOL, impacted orchard terrain northeast of Lake Chelan Airport (S10), Chelan, Washington. The airplane was partially consumed by the post-impact fire and the sole pilot onboard died of burns and asphyxiation, the coroner said.
