UAM - Stor konferanse 20. januar - Curt Lewis

(Red.)

The Transformative Vertical Flight 2020 meeting will take place Jan. 21-23, 2020 in San Jose, California, with our eVTOL Short Course planned for Monday, Jan. 20 and a tour of NASA Ames on Friday, Jan. 24. A record number of abstracts were submitted for this jam-packed three-day meeting, which includes the following concurrent events:
  • Aeromechanics for Advanced Vertical Flight Technical Meeting
  • International Powered Lift Conference (IPLC)
  • 7th Annual Electric VTOL Symposium
Aeromechanics for Advanced Vertical Flight will provide a forum on emerging aeromechanics challenges and solution methods for future vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) aircraft. Technical discipline subject matter will encompass advance dynamics, aerodynamics, acoustics and flight mechanics, all of which are strong drivers in the design process.
IPLC 2020 is the only technical meeting focused on the technologies, promise and progress of powered lift systems, with applications ranging from advanced rotorcraft to jet-borne vertical flight and electric VTOL aircraft. IPLC will focus on three primary topics: advanced rotorcraft, jet-lift concepts and technologies, and recent progress in electric propulsion applications.
7th Annual Electric VTOL Symposium is invited presentations only. Our annual eVTOL Symposium has continued to grown in size and scope, and this year promises to be the largest ever. This event will be an excellent opportunity to learn about and discuss the latest advancements in eVTOL, and the challenges that still remain. Invited presentations from all areas of eVTOL will be discussed, from researchers and leaders in academia, industry and government agencies from around the globe. The Vertical Flight Society has been leading efforts in electric VTOL since 2014 and has a dedicated website on Electric VTOL News
See the 7th eVTOL Symposium Preliminary Schedule (subject to change).
Short Course on eVTOL Fundamentals, led by Dr. Anubhav Datta, will be held all day on Monday, Jan. 20 (note: this is also the US federal holiday for Martin Luther King Jr. Day). The cost of the course is $300 ($175 for current student members of VFS).

NASA AMES RESEARCH TOUR
The VFS San Francisco Bay Area Chapter is organizing a tour of of the NASA Ames Research Center on the morning of Friday, Jan. 24. Space will be limited and advance reservations will be required.  Please note that tour registrants from designated countries (see NASA website) may experience an overly extended review process and may not get approval in time to attend the tour.
