Japan is the United States’ most significant ally in the whole Indo-Pacific region, and it is also the most vocal supporter of the US strategy of “containing China.” Unlike other nations, the Japanese government has officially stated that if future hostilities across the Taiwan Strait hit the southwestern islands, particularly the Diaoyu Islands, the Japanese Self-Defense Forces will fully collaborate with the US military. As a result, with US help, Japan is continually improving its military capabilities to engage in the conflict when required, and the American F-35 stealth fighter equipped by the Japan Air Self-Defense Force is regarded as the most potent intervention force in its hands.

Japan Air Self-Defense Force is preparing to deploy the third F-35A fighter unit built in the United States. Japan’s Chief Cabinet Secretary Kato Katsunobu acknowledged this, indicating that the Komatsu base is a good possibility. The deployment of F-35A fighters to Komatsu base will improve “Japan’s capabilities to retaliate to China or Russia breaching Japanese airspace.”

According to reports, the Japan Air Self-Defense Force now has two F-35A fighter squadrons stationed at Misawa Base in Misawa City, Aomori Prefecture, near the Pacific coast. At the moment, the Komatsu base is mostly manned by F-15J jets. If the F-35A is deployed at Komatsu, some of the base’s F-15J fighter units will most likely be relocated to other sites. If the proposal is fully fulfilled, the Komatsu facility is expected to deploy four F-35A jets by 2025, with a subsequent increase to twenty.

Because of the necessity to combat the Soviet Union during the Cold War, the United States has armed Japan with the most sophisticated fighter airplanes since the Cold War era. However, in order to limit Japan’s offensive capabilities, the fighter planes delivered to Japan have been castrated for ground attack capabilities, particularly nuclear assault capabilities.

Even the operational F-15J, its combat effectiveness is substantially lower than that of other countries’ F-15 aircraft, probably only slightly stronger than the Saudi Air Force’s F-15S. The F-35A supplied to Japan, on the other hand, has not received comparable modification and retains complete combat capabilities. Its combat effectiveness will be improved in the future, particularly with the deployment of stealth long-range attack cruise missiles such as AGM-158B, the capabilities of the missile.

Now, the US is continuing to assist Japan in improving its military capabilities. The Japanese Self-Defense Force not only participates in joint military drills with the United States, France, Australia, and other nations, but it also plans to “preempt” in conflict and function as a pawn in the US Indo-Pacific strategy.

This action was a direct violation of Japan’s “Peace Constitution,” which had been in effect since the end of World War II. The Japanese government has compelled all Japanese citizens to ride in chariots for the advantage of the United States. It has forgotten what Japanese militarists delivered to Asians and Japanese people during WWII.

Colonel Tan Kefei, a spokesperson for China’s Ministry of National Defense, has previously replied to Japan’s continued exploitation of the so-called “China threat” to expand its military strength. A succession of measures by the United States, Japan, and other nations are all examples of the Cold War mentality, which is still prevalent in today’s globe.

The trend is absolutely inverse. China has traditionally followed a defensive national security policy and is dedicated to establishing a society with a shared destiny for all humanity. Countries such as Japan should focus their efforts on combating the disease rather than upsetting regional stability.

The Chinese leadership has often said that China will never follow the logic that “a powerful country must be hegemonic.” No country has the right to intervene in China’s domestic affairs, including the Taiwan issue. China’s future reunification, whether peaceful or violent, is entirely up to the Chinese people. Any nation, whether the US or Japan, that actively seeks to hinder China’s sovereignty and impede China’s rise will confront bloodshed by the People’s Liberation Army and the Chinese people!
