Flight Operational Forum “Lifetime Achievement Award” 2021 is given to CEO and aircraft Captain Dag Falk-Petersen.
 
The script of the citation:
“The winner of the Flyoperativt Forum's award 2021 turned 67 years old this year. He started his pilot career in July 1974, was trained as a fighter pilot and flew the F-104 and F-16 in the Royal Norwegian Air Force until 1985. He ended his military career as a Deputy Commander at the 334 Squadron.
 
He has held a number of administrative positions and showed early on that he was an avid and skilled pilot and not least an organizational leader. Like Deputy Commander at 334 Squadron, he was concerned with healthy attitudes, and not least healthy and safe flying.
 
In 1985 he joined SAS - Scandinavian Airlines and also did a good administrative job there as Chief Pilot, became Operations Director before joining CHC Helicopter as CEO in 2010. In 2011 he became CEO of Avinor, a position he held until this year. He has also been a solid support for us at FoF and not least a contributor during his 10 years as CEO.
 
He was the driving force behind buying electric planes and has forecast the need for a sustainable aviation. That it would be he who had a seized engine that led to an emergency landing was perhaps a blessing as he managed the landing in an excellent way, both pilot and passenger walked unharmed from the plane. Rumor has it that he was wearing a heart rate monitor during the emergency that never exceeded 100 bpm!
 
This year's award from us at FoF is given to you for your long and faithful service, for your commitment to safety and cooperation in Norwegian military and civil aviation. By your peer's demeanor and good communication skills, you have left a very good legacy in Norwegian aviation. Flight operational Forum’s award 2021, for long and faithful service in aviation, is awarded to CEO and aircraft Captain Dag Falk-Petersen.”
