Grupo Aeromexico Completes Order for 90 Boeing 737 MAX Planes

Mexican carrier Grupo Aeromexico finalized an order for 60 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, valued at more than $6 billion.

The order includes an option for an additional 30 planes, as the airline looks to upgrade its fleet with more fuel efficient planes.

Aeromexico also expects to complete an order for a fleet of 787 Dreamliners later this week, which was part of the original letter of intent it signed for the 737s in July.
"We are proud of the steps Aeromexico is taking to remain Mexico's leading airline and one of the world's most progressive airlines," said Van Rex Gallard, vice president of sales for Latin America, Africa and Caribbean, Boeing. "Aeromexico has a history of leading the way for Latin America's aviation industry and this order shows their dedication to continuous improvement in performance, customer satisfaction and efficiency."
