INTRODUCING MESA-K-DEV
MESA-K-DEV is a complete self-contained radar based on our revolutionary metamaterial electronically scanning array (MESA™). MESA-K-DEV exemplifies the ultra-fast scanning and ultra-low C-SWAP only possible with MESA. Designed as a highly flexible Developer’s Kit, MESA-K-DEV is ideal for companies and integrators interested in implementing advanced radar for a wide range of commercial applications including: detect and avoid even on small UAS, dramatically advanced radar for autonomous vehicles, security radar including drone detection, and many others. The antenna subsystem from MESA-K-DEV, called MESA-K-EVU, is also available as a standalone unit for radar manufacturers interested in evaluating MESA-K as a subsystem to connect to their own back-end radar electronics.

COMING SOON – MESA-DAA
Echodyne is hard at work on our next product release – a complete MESA™ based radar at K-band specifically designed for Airborne Detect and Avoid (DAA) for small UAS. While final specifications are not being released, MESA-DAA is based largely on MESA-K-DEV. Package size and weight are planned to be appreciably less than MESA-K-DEV — especially if the unit is placed inside the sUAS airframe. Range is planned to be >3KM with scanning speed of 1Hz for the entire field of view and as fast as 10Hz for updating locations of previously detected objects. The field of view for a single unit is planned to be ±60° in azimuth (120° total) and ±40° in elevation. Multiple units can be combined if greater field of view is desired.
MESA-X-EVU
MESA-X-EVU is passive X-band antenna subsystem available to 3rd parties for evaluating our revolutionary new metamaterial electronically scanning array (MESA™) for radar applications. MESA™ enables new radar solutions with ultra-fast scanning and ultra-low C-SWAP. MESA-X-EVU is ideal for radar manufacturers and integrators who are interested in evaluating MESA™ as a subsystem to connect to their own back-end radar electronics. Access to MESA-X-EVU is simple, via a single RF I/O port and a serial USB 2.0 interface. A limited number of MESA-X-EVU are available to qualified integrators and potential partners.
