Flyet som havarerte etter avgang var et moderne fly, tilhørende selskapet Saurya Airlines.

Nepal Plane Crash: 

Nepal has been hit by another massive plane crash. A Saurya Airlines aircraft crashed on Wednesday during takeoff at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu.

As many as 19 people, including the crew members, were on board the plane bound for Pokhara. The accident occurred around 11 AM, TIA spokesperson Premnath Thakur was quoted as saying by Nepali news website Kathmandu Post. Police and firefighters are carrying out rescue operations at the accident site.

The cause of the accident and the casualty is still unknown.

Narrative:
A Saurya Airlines Canadair CRJ-200ER has crashed on takeoff from runway 02 at Kathmandu Airport, Nepal.
The aircraft crashed 200 m to the right of the runway centreline and burst into flames.
The KTM rescue coordination centre reported that 18 people were found dead. Only the captain is reported to have survived the accident.

Videos from the accident sequence shows the CRJ-200 descending in a right-wing low attitude before it struck the ground, bursting into flames.

Preliminary information suggests that the aircraft was being flown to Pokhara for maintenance. Among the passengers were aircraft maintenance engineers and airline staff.
