The modifications incorporate a new combat systems suite featuring improved computer processing, a wide-band satellite communication system, a signals intelligence capability, a submarine track management system and additional communications and acoustics systems to enhance search, detection and targeting capabilities.

For the first time, an F-35B has flown armed with the Meteor beyond-visual-range air-to-air missile. Test flights with the missile were a long time coming, but they will pave the way for a major leap in capability for the stealth fighter. British and Italian F-35s will eventually combine the ramjet-powered missile with enhancements under the Block 4 upgrade, including for the aircraft’s radar, which will make the Meteor an even more potent addition to their armory. Read our report here. Anklager Trump og Vance for å stå på side med Putin

Demokratene i Senatet anklager USAs president Donald Trump og visepresident J.D Vance for å stå på parti med Russlands president Vladimir Putin etter møtet med Ukrainas leder Volodymyr Zelenskyj, ifølge Reuters.

«Trump og Vance gjør Putins skitne arbeid. Demokratene i Senatet vil aldri slutte å kjempe for frihet og demokrati», skrev demokratenes minoritetsleder i Senatet, Chuck Schumer, på sosiale medier.

Høyre vil kraftig fremskynde styrkingen av Forsvaret

Høyre vil bruke mer penger på Forsvaret, og foreslår åtte konkrete tiltak for å styrke Forsvaret, ifølge en pressemelding.

Tiltakene innebærer blant annet mer øving og personell og økt produksjon av våpen, ammunisjon og droner i Norge.

Partiet vil også bruke mer penger på å støtte Ukraina og til å styrke eget forsvar.

– Det er nødvendig å øke tempoet betraktelig, sier Høyre-leder Erna Solberg.
