The Insider, Der Spiegel and CBS's 60 Minutes carried out a joint investigation that linked a mystery illness called 'Havana Syndrome' to Russian intelligence.

Affected personnel described having symptoms such as dizziness, headaches, difficulty concentrating and an intense and painful sound in their ears.

Its name comes from the first case detected in Cuba's capital in 2016.

Anton Gerashchenko, former Ukrainian Advisor to Internal Affairs Minister, shared a post on X saying: "Russian military intelligence infiltrated the NATO 2023 summit in Vilnius and successfully attacked a senior US Department of Defense official. Russia is waging war against us, and we continue to pretend it is not."

Accident: Safe B722 at Malakal on Mar 31st 2024, landed short of runway and collided with MD-82 By Simon Hradecky, created Sunday, Mar 31st 2024 17:19Z, last updated Monday, Apr 1st 2024 08:45Z A Safe Air Boeing 727-200, registration 5Y-IRE performing a freight flight from Juba to Malakal (South Sudan) with 7 crew on board, landed on Malakal's runway 22 but touched down short off the runway, skidded and collided with an MD-82, which has had an accident earlier, see Accident: African Express MD82 at Malakal on Feb 9th 2024, touched down short of runway. There was one injury, both aircraft sustained substantial (additional) damage. Malakal's Governor's Press Office reported the B722 had experienced problems prior to landing and was performing an emergency landing, skidded off the runway and collided with the debris of another aircraft that had crashed a few months earlier. All seven occupants were able to evacuate the aircraft safely. Malakal's Airport Manager reported the aircraft landed at about 11:00L (09:00Z) but was too low on approach, touched down a few meters short of the runway causing both main gear struts to collapse. The crew lost control of the airway which veered off the runway and collided with the MD-82 that had crashed in Malakal about 1.5 months ago. All on board (6 crew, one passenger) are in good condition, however, one of the occupants sustained injuries. United Airlines flight UA85 travelling from Tel Aviv, Israel, to Newark, New Jersey, was forced into an emergency landing at New York Stewart International Airport after encountering severe turbulence when trying unsuccessfully to land at Newark.

The Boeing 787-10 registered N14016 had 312 passengers onboard, and 22 individuals were injured during the turbulence. The pilots attempted to land at Newark at 21:38 UTC on Runway 22L with a wind at 310 gusting 38; the plane went down to 350ft before diverting to Stewart.

Ambulances were present at the scene in Stewart to transport the injured to St. Luke’s Hospital, with 15 passengers treated onsite for minor ailments like motion sickness.

The Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) confirmed the safe landing of Flight UA85 around 18:45 local time on Friday, March 29, after the crew reported a passenger medical emergency. The FAA added that an investigation would be conducted into the incident.

The flight was originally scheduled to land at Newark Liberty International Airport but diverted to New York Stewart International Airport due to the emergency. The plane eventually refuelled and continued to Newark Liberty International Airport, where it had originally been headed, United Airlines said.
