Expanding into low-cost, long-haul operations has given Norwegian Air Shuttle some major headaches, and its troubles are not yet over. The low-cost carrier (LCC) might have to transfer the registration of six of its Boeing 787s from Ireland to Norway due to restrictions of the Norwegian civil aviation authority (CAA) on the use of foreign-registered aircraft, and the U.S. Transportation Department still has not approved its application for a foreign air carrier permit for the company’s crewing on Europe to US flights.
