Arktis

Troops from Denmark, Germany, France, Sweden, and Finland have arrived in Greenland as part of a coordinated effort to bolster security in the strategically vital Arctic region. As the country responsible for Greenland’s defense, Denmark has increased military patrols and welcomed allied forces for joint exercises and surveillance missions under NATO cooperation.

These deployments come as geopolitical tensions rise in the High North, where melting ice is opening new sea routes and intensifying global competition. European leaders have emphasized that Greenland’s security and future are decided solely by Denmark and Greenland, firmly rejecting external pressure or unilateral claims.
The multinational presence highlights a united European commitment to deterrence, stability, and long-term security in the Arctic.
