Tomorrow, Friday 7th August, Hawker Hurricane G-HURI is scheduled to depart IWM Duxford at 1:00pm, beginning the first leg of its historic journey to Poland, with an expected arrival in Piła on 8th August.

Since the Polish Heritage Flight was founded in 2019, flying a Hurricane to Poland has been a long-held ambition. This journey is dedicated to the brave Polish airmen who fought alongside the Allies during the Second World War—many of whom never returned home.

For those who survived, the end of the war did not bring a free Poland, despite Allied victory.

This flight carries their memory back to Poland as a lasting symbol of gratitude, remembrance, and respect for their courage, sacrifice, and service. Lest we forget.
