My colleagues fired on hungry Palestinians, claims Gaza aid contractor

The GHF began its operations in Gaza at the end of May, distributing limited aid from several sites in southern and central Gaza Credit: Reuters A former security contractor for Gaza's controversial new Israel- and US-backed aid distribution sites has told the BBC that he witnessed colleagues opening fire on hungry Palestinians who posed no threat, including with machine guns. He described one occasion when a colleague opened fire because a group of women, children and elderly people were moving too slowly. The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation said the allegations were categorically false. Since the GHF started up in May, Israeli forces have killed more than 400 Palestinians trying to retrieve food aid from its sites, the UN and local doctors say.
