Bell 525 Flight Simulation Training Device Receives FAA Qualification

Bell 525 flight sim at Bell Training Academy granted Full Flight Simulator Interim Level C

European Rotors – Cologne, Germany (17 Nov. 2025) - Bell Textron Inc., a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company, announced today the Bell 525 Flight Simulation training device at the Bell Training Academy received its Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) Flight Simulation Interim Level C Training Device qualification. The Flight Simulation training device was designed and manufactured by Bell affiliate TRU Simulation + Training Inc., a Textron Inc. company. This new milestone will allow Bell pilots to earn flight hours on the Bell 525 platform ahead of type certification.

“This milestone is a great step toward preparing our teams for future operations with the Bell 525 and future pilots for type rating,” said Mike Deslatte, senior vice president, Bell. “Now, our pilots can log Bell 525 flight hours and build on their aircraft knowledge from flight test operations.”

The Bell 525 incorporates fly-by-wire flight controls, industry leading drive system performance and fully integrated vehicle health monitoring. The 525-drive system architecture is also precedent setting; with the high-speed components removed from the main rotor gearbox and incorporated into independent engine reduction gearboxes.

The simulator is equipped with high-fidelity visual systems, realistic cockpit environments and advanced motion platforms, which collectively create a training experience that mirrors actual flight conditions. The simulator is designed to offer pilots an immersive and realistic training experience, replicating the performance and handling characteristics of Bell's 525 helicopters. By leveraging cutting-edge technology, TRU Simulation ensures that pilots can train in a controlled environment, enhancing their skills and readiness for real-world operations.
