All Nippon Airways had to ground five of its 11 787s after a problem was identified concerning a component within the gearbox of their Trent 1000 engines.
A risk of potential corrosion was discovered during ground testing by Rolls-Royce which led to the airline withdrawing the aircraft from its fleet. ANA is the only carrier to currently operate the Trent 1000 powered version of the 787.

Three of the aircraft have been returned to service after repair with the remaining two expected to be flying again within a week.

Boeing has confirmed that it does not expect deliveries of the Dreamliner to be affected.
