Sweden and Denmark have combined their air traffic
services in a joint venture called Nordic Unified Air Traffic Control
(NUAC).
The new company was launched at the beginning of last year as a
joint subsidiary of Danish Navair and Swedish LFV. At the beginning of this
month NUAC was certified as an ATS provider and takes over the en route
operations previously provided by Navair and LFV, in the Danish – Swedish
functional airspace block (FAB). It
is the first integrated Air Navigation Service Provider in Europe and is another
step towards the EC’s Single European Sky concept.
“By joining the activities in one company, we can obtain savings
and efficiency improvements; this is not possible separately in Naviair and LFV”
said Deputy Chairman of the Board of NUAC, Thomas Allard.
