EU har tidligere varslet at til neste år vil forbudet mot over 100ml væske opp til en liter, bli løftet. Nå trekker EU tilbake dette:
The European Commission has announced that it has
decided that the removal of restrictions regarding LAGs (liquids, aerosols and
gels), as originally planned in April 2013, “could present a considerable
operational risk mainly due to the scale of the change”.
It pointed out that the “risk posed by liquid explosives to
civil aviation is still significant” despite the considerable progress being
made by various manufacturers to develop systems “which can adequately address
this risk”.
The EC has decided that a phased approach should be employed,
beginning January 2014, with a recommendation that passengers can carry on board
“all duty free LAGs provided that they are screened”. The Commission “will then
bring forward proposals for subsequent phases” with the agreement of Member
states and the European Parliament, “to achieve the final objective of screening
all LAGs at the earliest possible date”.
