Dette er min UAV favoritt. Første gang vist i Norge under UAV konferansen Flyoperativt Forum arrangerte i 2007. Den burde vært standard utstyr på våre fregatter. Men Sverre Diesen skrev i sin forsvarstudie av samme år at Norge ikke skulle befatte seg med UAV`er. En kan uten videre si at det var lite progressivt.

[Avionics Today 10-29-2014] Insitu has announced the newest version of itsScanEagle Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS), the ScanEagle 2. The latest version of the UAS promises to provide increased payload power, expanded payload options, a more robust navigation system, better image, and a purpose-built propulsion system. The aircraft's new architecture also maximizes commonality with all Insitu systems, which should reduce training, hardware and life-cycle costs.
ScanEagle 2 employs the first reciprocating internal combustion propulsion system designed and manufactured specifically for small-UAS class vehicles. An open-architecture ground control system also enables commonality with other unmanned systems, as well as a launch-and-recovery system it shares with Integrator, Insitu's other unmanned platform.
