H145 Picked For North Sea Offshore Transport
Wiking Helikopter Service GmbH signed a contract for two Airbus Helicopters H145s for offshore transport to and from wind farms and for air rescue missions in the North Sea. This will be the company's first Airbusproducts in its fleet. The first delivery is scheduled for the end of this year.
With an increased engine performance in single-engine operations, the H145 can bear up to 200 kg more payload during winch operations. In the offshore configuration, the H145 is equipped with an emergency floatation system, certified for Sea State 6, weather radar, helicopter emergency egress lighting system and an automatic deployable emergency locator transmitter. It can transport up to eight passengers.
