Leaked documents indicate Russia's
threshold for employing tactical nuclear weapons is significantly lower than
previously thought, according to a new report. The Russian Navy losing a
fifth of its ballistic missile submarines or even three cruisers might be
enough to trigger such a response. The documents also point to continued
Russian planning around a potential conflict with China, despite the
strengthening of relations between the two countries in recent decades. You
can read our full analysis of the implications of the documents here.
Elsewhere, a tornado caused major damage
to parts of Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio, yesterday,
including to the National Museum of the Air Force, which is located at the
base. Imagery of the devastation released by Wright-Patterson certainly makes
for grim viewing, in which we see various parts of aircraft strewn across the
apron in front of the museum's Restoration Hangar 4, which sustained
significant damage. You can get caught up on what we know about all of
that here.

our coverage from the last week below. We are also continuing our rolling coverage of the conflict in Ukraine as it develops.
