DALLAS — Indian LCC IndiGo (6E) has placed a firm order for 30 Airbus A350-900 aircraft, disclosed in an exchange filing on April 24, marking the airline's entry into the wide-body space.
IndiGo says the specific configuration of the aircraft will be determined at a later stage, with deliveries expected to commence in 2027. In addition to the 30 Firm A350-900 order, the carrier also holds Purchase Rights for an additional 70 Airbus A350 Family aircraft.
This new aircraft will allow 6E to extend its reach and enhance its network connectivity, enabling passengers from various Indian cities to connect with destinations around the world on board wide-body aircraft.
The A350-900s will be equipped with Rolls Royce's Trent XWB engine, combining exceptional mission capability with the efficiency of the Trent XWB engine.
