Memorial Hospital Receives Modified EC145 from Metro
Memorial Hospital of South Bend, Ind., part of the Beacon Health System, is upgrading its air medical transportation service from a Eurocopter EC135 to an EC145. Shreveport, La.-based Metro Aviation modified and delivered the helicopter to Memorial MedFlight, which also serves Memorial Children's Hospital. Metro equipped the EC145 with a traffic warning system, radar and storm scope systems and wide area augmentation system (WAAS) lateral precision with vertical guidance (LPV) capabilities. Memorial is looking to take advantage of the larger cabin volume as well.
