Skymaster Down - Film på trappene er mye omtalt - Sensasjonalisme?

«Canadas største mysterium»: Militærflyet forsvant sporløst for 70 år siden

Det aktuelle flyet. (Via Curt Lewis)

Hi Per,

(the 1950-vintage map shows Gold Mountain approx. 5 km north of the BC-Montana border, northwest of Eureka, Mont.)

For the interesting new documentary Skymaster Down, Director Andrew Gregg interviewed a lot of relevant people, but missed the ones that have researched this so called "mystery" for 30+ years. Apparently the webmaster of the Operation Mike Facebook page told Andrew that the long-time AF2469 researcher Matt Kennebec was not worth talking to. Though Matt tried three times to contact Andrew, he was ignored. Why to perpetuate this to be a Yukon legend, rather than seriously trying to finally bring closure to the few remaining interested next of kin of the 44 people aboard this C-54? Having collected information on AF2469 for 30+ years, we independently put the wreckage on Gold Mountain, 5 km north of the BC-Montana border. So, Andrew, Operation Mike webmaster, CASARA or anybody else will never find 2469 in the Yukon. You just started your research 30 years too late. In short, there is no "mystery of a missing C-54 in the Yukon," rather the mystery is why the next of kin have been lied to for more than 70 years. But also compare this with that civilian DC-4 that disappeared a few months after our C-54 on June 23, 1950 (Flight 2501-Northwest Orient Airlines) where the recovered bodies were buried in two secret, unmarked graves and the next of kin kept in the dark. Instead of having wasted time and money flying into some well known crash sites up north, Andrew could have flown to Gold Mountain instead and for once and for all prove us right or wrong...
