Incident: Norwegian B738 at Sarajevo and
Belgrade on May 17th 2019, flaps fault
A Norwegian Boeing 737-800, registration LN-NIA performing
flight DY-4343 from Stockholm (Sweden) to Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina), was
descending towards Sarajevo when the crew aborted the approach at FL140 due
to a problem with the flaps. The crew decided to divert to Belgrade (Sserbia)
where the aircraft landed safely on runway 30 at a higher than normal speed
(193 knots over ground) about 40 minutes after the aborted descent to
Sarajevo.
The aircraft remained on the ground in Belgrade for about 5 hours, then positioned back to Stockholm, remained on the ground in Stockholm for another 7.5 hours, then returned to service. |
