Israel’s
ability to sustain its fleet of F-35I Adir stealth fighters during combat
operations is providing important lessons for the United States,
especially in terms of potentially fighting a conflict in the Pacific,
Pentagon officials said during testimony before Congress earlier this
week. While F-35 sustainment concerns have risen dramatically across the
U.S. military as of late — with fears over how its 'just in time'
logistics model would hold up to a potential sustained high-end conflict
— Israel has so far avoided those problems, with the Pentagon's help.
Check out the story here.
Meanwhile, a
picture has emerged showing an F-16 Viper fighter that appears to be
sitting at Volkel Air Base in the Netherlands with an inert training
version, or "shape," of the B61-12 nuclear gravity bomb under
its wing. This offers a rare glimpse into the ongoing work to field
America's latest nuclear bomb in Europe as part of NATO's nuclear sharing
agreements. You can read more about this, and get up to speed on the
B61-12 bomb, here.
