We
hope your week is getting off to a great start, and ours sure is. It
was a wild weekend in spaceflight news as Blue Origin's huge New Glenn
rocket launched into space for the third time ever on Sunday morning
(April 19). And, in a first for the company, New Glenn launched with a
previously flown booster and landed it at sea around six minutes after
liftoff.
However, things didn't go as planned from there. The
mission's payload, the massive BlueBird 7 satellite, failed to reach its
intended orbit due to an undisclosed upper stage issue. And just today,
we have seen reports that the upper stage might reenter Earth's
atmosphere later this week and potentially survive its fiery plunge.
We'll be watching that and more this week here at Space.com.
