Artemis 2 astronauts make historic moon flyby today Today's the big day, the day we've all been waiting for: NASA's Artemis 2 astronauts will make their closest lunar flyby today. The crew of four will become the first astronauts to visit the moon since 1972. They will be able to see parts of the moon that the Apollo astronauts didn't, like the poles of the moon's far side and a rare solar eclipse from beyond the moon.
