Final F-22 Raptor Begins Test Flights
Lockheed Martin on Wednesday said the final Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor took to the skies for its first test flight in Marietta, Ga.
This Raptor (tail number 4195) has a May delivery date and will join other F-22s in the U.S. Air Force’s 3rd Wing at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska. Additionally, this aircraft completes the operational fleet at 187 jets.
Operational F-22s are based at Langley Air Force Base, Va.; Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska; Holloman Air Force Base, N.M.; and Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii. Air Force F-22 units have deployed to Kadena Air Base, Japan, and Andersen AFB, Guam, as part of rotational deployments designed to enhance security in the Pacific theater, according to Lockheed Martin.
