US drops largest-ever non-nuclear bomb

in Afghanistan

The US military dropped America's most powerful non-
nuclear bomb on ISIS targets in Afghanistan, the first
time this type of weapon has been used in battle,
according to US officials. A GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance
Air Blast Bomb (MOAB), nicknamed the "mother of all
bombs" and the largest non-nuclear bomb in the US
arsenal that's ever been dropped, was dropped at 7:32
p.m. local time, according to four US military officials
with direct knowledge of the mission. A MOAB is a 30-
foot long, 21,600-pound, GPS-guided munition.

President Donald Trump called it "another successful
job." The bomb was dropped by an MC-130, stationed
inAfghanistan and operated by Air Force Special
OperationsCommand, Pentagon spokesman Adam 
Stump told CNN.Kabul (CNN)At least 94 Islamic State
fighters were killedwhen the US military dropped
America's most powerful non-nuclear bomb on ISIS
targets in Afghanistan, an Afghan official
said Saturday."The number of Daesh fighters killed in
the US bomb in Achindistrict jumped to 94, including
fourcommanders," Nangarharprovincial spokesman
AttaullahKhogiani told CNN, using analternative name
for ISIS.
