Norway to Fund 315M to enable Ukraine Buy F-16 Ammunition Missiles

On December 17, 2025, the Norwegian government announced a military aid package of approximately NOK 3.24 billion ($315 million) to enable Ukraine to purchase ammunition and missiles for its F-16 fighter jet fleet. 

Key Details of the Funding

• Total Amount: Approximately NOK 3.2 billion ($315 million).
• F-16 Specific Allocation: Over NOK 1 billion ($98 million) is dedicated specifically to F-16 ammunition and components.
• Procurement Mechanism: The funds are funneled through the U.S. JUMPSTART mechanism, which utilizes the U.S. Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program to source equipment directly from the U.S. Department of Defense for rapid delivery.
• Included Weaponry:
  • F-16 Munitions: Ammunition for the fighter jets, including precision-guided systems.
  • Laser-Guided Weapons: Funding for advanced systems that convert low-cost rockets into precision-guided weapons for use from aircraft or ground-based air defenses.
