 Fartøyet i fokus ble fulgt av en russisk ubåt, mener det var en Kilo Class,  i britisk sone. Den eneste måten å holde følge med hva den driver med er å benytte undevannsfarkoster. Regner med at slike er i bruk. (Red.)

Ships operating for Standing NATO Maritime Group 1 shadowed the Russian spy ship Yantar and the Northern Fleet destroyer Severomorsk along the northern Norwegian coast.

Muligens en provokasjon. Tipper at Norge bare sender en note til Russland, men vi tør neppe gjøre noe med det. Det kan jo være at Russland armerer Barentsburg, gitt fartøyets historie som weapons carrier. (Red.)

The Taimyr has 12,150 tonne deadweight and is owned by TC Nord Project, a company sanctioned because of its involvement in shipments of Russian weapons.

Sanctioned Russian cargo carrier makes port call in Norwegian archipelago

The Taimyr is on the sanctions lists of the US and Ukraine because of its involvement in Russian weapon transportation. On December 22, it made a port call in Barentsburg, Svalbard.

Putin orders building of North Pole ice base

The Artur Chilingarov Ice Base will be located on an ice floe and house researchers and tourists who are ready to pay a minimum of €40,000 for a five-day visit.
