AW189 Takes Maiden Flight

AgustaWestland has flown the AW189 prototype for the first time. Chief test pilot Giuseppe Lo Coco was at the controls for the AW189, which “performed as expected.” The initial prototype will be used mainly for avionics testing and offshore certification. A second prototype will be tested in 2012 for load surveys. The helicopter made its debut at the 2011 Paris Air Show. Foto: AW
