Valmie Resources Inc. and its joint venture partner, AeroLift eXpress, is discussing daily, unmanned offshore transport capabilities with a major Latin American energy company. Since AeroLift's debut at the Offshore Technology Conference in Houston, Texas, several companies have demonstrated interest in collaborating with it to support offshore delivers and to provide other unmanned aerial services. Because of the oil and gas industry downtown, there has been a greater need for curbing costs. An unmanned solution could provide a safe and more cost effective way of transporting payloads in challenging environments and is an alternative to helicopter or marine delivery. "Our drone technology can successfully operate in any conditions where a helicopter can fly," said James Stafford, AeroLift's CEO and founder.
AeroLift has the capability to deliver a sizeable payload of up to 14 lb within an operating radius of 250 mi, with plans to increase the payload size to as much as 80 lb in subsequent development phases.
