An experimental Cozy Mk IV, amateur built by Thane L. Ostroth, impacted the waters off Half Moon Bay, California, shortly after takeoff from Half Moon airport (HWD/KHWD).
Both occupants perished and the aircraft was destroyed. The wreckage was found upside down in the water near Ross Cove.
Of the four occupants only one body was found so far.
According to latest reports, the airplane was carrying one pilot and three passengers.
