An Alaska Airlines flight from San Francisco International Airport to New Orleans was diverted to Los Angeles International Airport on Sunday afternoon due to a "strong odor" in the cabin. Alaska Airlines told SFGATE that a "strong odor was detected onboard during the flight in the aft cabin," and that "the plane is being inspected by technicians to pinpoint the cause." The plane landed safely in Los Angeles around noon, and no emergency was declared by the crew. A spokesperson for LAX said there were 136 people on the flight. Alaska Airlines said the passengers are being rebooked on continuing flights. The cause of the odor has yet to be determined. |
