The aircraft, an experimental Drake built RV-8A, attempted to land then impacted heavily wooded terrain as the pilot stalled and then span on the base to final turn.The airplane was substantially damaged. One occupant, the owner/builder/pilot, was killed. The other occupant was transported to a hospital in critical condition.
