FAA suspends automated drone authorization system at NY JFK airport
The FAA has suspended the use of an automated system at New York JFK International Airport that allows drone operators to request and obtain authorization to fly in the vicinity of the New York City airport. In a statement provided to ATW, the agency said continued beta testing of the Low Altitude Authorization and Notification Capability (LAANC) “revealed the need for further refinement of the system’s use of airspace data in this area.”
