DRF Rescues Approach 39,000 Per Year
European air rescue provider DRF Luftrettung is reporting a total of 38,748 helicopter missions during 2012, up from 38,366 in 2011. Founded in Stuttgart in 1973, the non-profit organization has flown close to 700,000 missions over the course of its 40-year history. As part of a replacement program for its BK117 fleet, the operator will begin flying Eurocopter EC145 T2s starting later this year.
