MH17 probe shows crash caused by 'massive explosive decompression'
MH17 suffered a massive decompression caused by an explosion according to data recovered from the Malaysian plane's black box recorders
Analysis of the black box flight recorders from a downed Malaysian airliner show it was destroyed by shrapnel coming from a rocket blast and went down because of "massive explosive decompression", a Ukrainian security official said on Monday.
Andriy Lysenko, spokesman for Ukraine's Security Council, told a news conference in Kiev the information came from experts analysing the recorders from the plane that came down in rebel-held territory in eastern Ukraine on July 17.
British air accident specialists have been tasked with downloading the data from two black boxes recovered from the crash site and handing that information over to an investigation led by the Dutch Safety Board.
A spokeswoman for the Dutch organisation said it hoped to release a comprehensive report on the black box by the end of the week.

"Following the examination, the cockpit data was successfully downloaded and contained valid data from the flight.
"The downloaded data have to be further analysed and investigated."
Kiev and the West accuse pro-Russian rebels of shooting down the plane. Moscow says the Ukrainian government is responsible for the crash, which killed all 298 people on board, including 193 Dutch and 10 from the UK.
Navi Pillay, the UN Human Rights commissioner, has said the "horrendous shooting down" of the Malaysian passenger jet in rebel-held territory must be subject to a "thorough, effective, independent and impartial investigation".
"This violation of international law, given the prevailing circumstances, may amount to a war crime," she said.
The Red Cross has found that Ukraine is now in civil war - a classification that would make parties in the conflict liable to prosecution for war crimes.

However, it remains unclear who fired a missile, with pro-Russia rebels and Ukraine blaming each other.
Many of the 298 people killed on board flight MH17 were from the Netherlands.
Dutch investigators leading the inquiry into the crash have refused to comment on the Ukrainian claims.
Heavy fighting has prevented an international police force composed of Dutch and Australian officers from reaching the crash site for a second consecutive day.
