MOSCOW, BEIJING—The Sukhoi Su-35 is 
taking its place as China’s most powerful fighter, following the beginning of deliveries on Dec. 25. The type, the most advanced Flanker so far, represents a step change in quality from earlier fighters in the series that have been delivered to China by Sukhoi or built locally without a license. China ordered 24 Su-35s in November 2015.
